Leadership Requirements

General Requirements for ALL Boy Leaders at Troop Level

  1. 1st Class or Higher
  2. BE an EXAMPLE of the Scout Oath and Law
  3. Attend all meetings in FULL Scout Uniform
  4. Attend meetings on a REGULAR basis (90%)

Senior Patrol Leader Requirements

  1. Lead and Direct Troop meetings
  2. Lead and Direct Troop camp-outs
  3. Coordinate Troop communication
  4. Meet and/or communicate with Scout Master on regular basis
  5. Lead and direct Patrol Leader Council

Assistant SPL Requirements

  1. Help SPL lead and direct Troop meetings
  2. Help SPL lead and direct Troop camp-outs
  3. Help SPL coordinate Troop communication

Librarian

  1. Maintain and catalogue the order of merit badge books
  2. Maintain a check-out list for merit badge books

Chaplain's Aide

  1. Be prepared to pray or lead inspirational thought at all meetings
  2. Lead and coordinate a worship service at all campouts

Historian

  1. Take pictures at all meetings and Troop events
  2. Collect programs, fliers, etc. from all events
  3. Decorate and maintain Troop bulletin board
  4. Present a scrapbook at the court of honor

OA Representative

  1. Attend OA meetings on a REGULAR basis (90%)
  2. Maintain a bulletin board and make regular announcements.
  3. Coordinate OA troop elections

Scribe

  1. Coordinate taking attendance at every meeting and event
  2. Take notes at PLC and distribute copies at next regular meeting
  3. Collect and maintain list of names whenever money is collected

Quartermaster

  1. Buy food for scouts on camp outs when appropriate
  2. Coordinate Patrol menus for camp outs
  3. Help Adult quartermaster maintain cleanliness and order of troop trailer when needed.

Patrol Leader

  1. 1st class not required
  2. Lead Patrol in activities
  3. Keep Patrol informed with calls or emails
  4. Be the liason between the boys and the SPL
